About Department

Department of Physics was started during the academic year of 1955-1956 with a mission of imparting quality education in Science to students in Allied and Applied level. The mission is reflected in the institutions efforts to offer education to rural students. The goal of our department is to furnish the development of students to keep the intellectual competence thereby making them to become bright citizens. Our department has successfully helped to produce number of graduates with excellent results so far. The result performance of the department from its inception has been uniformly excellent. During the academic year 1997-1998, B. Sc Industrial Electronics was started by our faculty members. Our department has a good potential to promote skill oriented programmes. The faculty may be encouraged to go for more interactive learning to promote the basic skills of the student community and research orientation is also suggested. Self-development, national development, and value orientation are the major considerations and objectives of the department. The Department produces consistent success rate in the University Examinations at the Allied and Applied level. The Department introduced B.Sc Physics in the year of 2015 and was elevated as a Research Department in the year 2016. M.Phil in physics is being introduced in the academic year 2017-2018. Ph.D programme was introduced during the same year for conducting research and suits students who prefer concrete scientific findings and clear processes. We have a positive vision that the students coming out of our campus should be intellectually enlightened, emotionally sound and practically efficient.
